The WT Band Camp

The WT Band Camp is one of the most exciting events held on the WT campus each summer in July.

Traditionally, the WT Band Camp has been the only two-week music camp in the state of Texas. Due to issues related to Covid-19, however, the 2021 Band Camp will be held Sunday, July 11th through Saturday, July 17th.

The WT Band Camp annually attracts middle and high school students from Texas and beyond. Over the years, we have hosted students from Japan, India, Italy and Australia. Our band campers are divided into nine concert bands.

In addition to band rehearsals, students attend daily master classes with specialist on their respective instruments and choose from a wide variety of electives including jazz band, brass choir, woodwind choir, ensembles, music theory, college prep theory, conducting, rhythmic reading, double reed-making, and marching classes.

In the summer of 2022, we plan to return to a two-week camp setting for the WT Band Camp.
