New WTAMU Flute Instructor Jessica Schury
Jessica Schury maintains an active career as an educator, orchestral musician, and chamber musician. Jessica is excited to be the incoming Assistant Professor of Flute at West Texas A&M University. She is also the co-founder of an online education platform, Flute Foundations, and the faculty administrator of Carol Wincenc’s Creating Resonance Retreat in Upstate New York.
Jessica has been named a prizewinner in various competitions across the United States including the National Flute Association Baroque Flute Masterclass Competition and the Mid-South Young Artist Competition. As an avid chamber musician, Jessica performs in several chamber ensembles such as The Pan-Tones, a multiple flute, guitar, and drum band; Duo Sonation, a flute and oboe duo; and Vox Venti, a flute quartet.
Jessica is completing her Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of North Texas. She received her Master of Music from Stony Brook University and her Bachelor of Music and Music Education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Jessica is honored to represent Wm. S.
