1966-1970

What was your degree in?

BS Major - Elem. Ed. Minor- Music

Where are you living now and what are you doing?

Fairfield, Ca.

I’m a retired kindergarten teacher (taught 31 yrs.)

I enjoy retirement - helping with grandchildren, reading, taking long walks, Pilates, friendships, working in the yard…

Tell us about your family.

My two sons & their families live close by. I have five grandchildren ages 24 (police officer) 19 (twins in college) and a 3 1/2 year old who keeps me young.

My husband passed away in 2024.

What instrument did you play?

Bassoon

What ensembles and student groups were you involved in while you were at WT?

Band, orchestra. Tau Beta Sigma, Mu Phi Epsilon

It was the best of times - all the hours practicing and hanging out at the band hall, friendships, football games (bus trips), Dr. Garner

Do you have a favorite memory or highlight that has happened for you since graduation?

Teaching kindergarteners was my passion

What did you learn from your time at WT?

Striving for excellence through hard work & a good attitude

Why did you come to WT?

I got a scholarship

What was your favorite band trip and why did you like it so much?

I think it was Colorado Springs. I ice skated for the first time.

There was snow on the ground when we marched at half time

Do you have any advice for current WT students?

Work hard, have fun, make lifelong friendships
